Practice management reports

Project

  • Practice management reporting targets administrative needs, providing users with relevant insights for effectively managing the business aspects of the practice.

Problem

Limited access to essential practice reports requires users to manually export data to third-party tools for analysis and report generation, resulting in an inefficient, time-consuming process. Key needs include: Providing organized, easily digestible information using BI tools and data visualizations for valuable insights beyond raw data. Access to additional non-clinical data sets not currently in the product, such as referral details, new patients, appointment types, itemized reports, and missing invoices.

My role

  • Senior product designer

Research

Collaborated closely with practices to understand reporting needs for both practice managers and doctors. Conducted competitive analysis, sketched initial ideas, and created prototypes to gather detailed feedback from SMEs and customers. Through this research, we identified essential reports for practice management, tailored to support business operations. Key reports include:

  • End-of-day reconciliation

  • Debt management

  • End of Month Reporting

  • End of Quarter Reporting

  • End of Financial Year Reporting

  • Business analysis & business development reporting

These reports enable users to access relevant information critical for effectively managing business aspects of the practice.

Design

Led the design and branding efforts in Power BI to ensure that all visuals aligned seamlessly with the product’s established look and feel. This approach created a visually cohesive and engaging experience, which received positive feedback from both practice managers and doctors for enhancing usability and accessibility within their workflows.
